Google Mail tips - Undo sending email

Have you ever hit SEND for an email and then in a frantic panic wished you could have that 0.1s back?!

Perhaps it was as simple as you forgot to add something you needed to, but I'm sure there are other times when you have realised (too late!) you are sending to the wrong person (or worse).

In GMail there is an option to "cancel" the sending of an email.  To set this up,

  1. Go to the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on
  3. Click on "Labs"
  4. Scroll down to "Undo Send" and hit "Enable"
  5. Click onat the top
  6. In the "General" tab you can set the time that the email will delay sending for (up to 30 seconds)
  7. Save changes if the pop-up appears.
When you next send an email you will see this at the top of the window

Hit undo and the email will not be sent. Life saver!
