Online Rubrics

Rubrics are a great way of helping students see what we define as great work. The top level shows what excellence looks like and signals clearly what they should be aiming for in a number of different areas.

There are many great sites that allow you to produce a rubric that you can print, (check out this page from Kathy Schrock) but how do we do this online?

One idea is to use a Google sheets add-on that allows you to create the rubric then easily grade students against it. Students then get an email at the end with their mark for each citeria plus a comment. A big time saver!

Another great use of Microsoft OneNote here would be to create the rubric in OneNote and distribute that page to all students. Students could post their work on that page in the form of written, audio or video, then the teacher can review each students work and quickly colour the section corresponding to the student's achievement.
