Bridging in Seqta

Bridging is used to join two classes, from different timetable periods, to make one long class. This process will bring the Programme and Marks Book forward from the previous timetable, to the current timetable period, allowing you to view the student's results.
Bridging is only required for classes that are continuing on with the same group of students. Classes that start with a new group of students at the start of the Timetable period, should COPY a previously used Programme, to one of the new classes, then SHARE that copy with the other classes in the cohort.

Important information

  • When bridging it should not be necessary to copy or share the Programme
  • If after bridging there is two classes showing on the timetable, this indicates the Programme has not been setup correctly, to fix this follow the steps in the video below:

Steps for bridging a class

This process is only required for semester based classes and will bring forward the Semester 1 Programmes (Marks books) so they appear on the Semester 2 classes. This process will need to be done for each class.
  1. Click on the Teaching workspace icon
  2. Click on the Bridge icon on the class that needs to be bridged
  3. Select the corresponding class in the bridging pop-up - this is a 4 step process:
    • Click the Select class button
    • Click a second time to bring up the drop-down list
    • Select the corresponding class, this should show at the top of the list, if it doesn't type in the class code
    • Click Ok
  4. Click on the Name field and remove the reference to Semester 1 and Semester 2, for example 2017S1.07EN#5 [2017S1SS] will become 2017.07EN#5 [2017]
  5. Click Save.  The Marks book and load Programme should now appear on the class.  If they don't go back to step one and complete the process again, being sure to click Ok before selecting Save.
